Real-world Consumer Guide to MLM Marketing and MLM Leads

MLM Marketing and MLM Leads Selection

Until we develop our automated mlm leads "Selection Wizard", please consult this page and planned articles as a starting point in learning more about selecting mlm leads that will hopefully be a good match with your needs.

Looking ahead, we plan to offer additional information in the form of short articles that will take you step-by-step through the process of lead selection with MLM Leads in mind, plus we'll touch on some marketing concepts and tips that may help you with marketing in the long term and learn about some key alternative marketing tools and techniques that can augment traditional methods of marketing.

Initially, this no-nonsense guide is offered to help match your needs with the various types of MLM Leads and recommend a solution that will be be a good real-world match with how you market and with your marketing style.

Why?

You may be wondering why you should bother reading yet another guide when so much information is available?

Even though there is a lot of information on this site, much of the information available on LeadLists.com and many other marketing sites, often assumes the visitor or marketer has sufficient marketing experience under his or her belt, or adequate prior knowledge and hands-on experience with leads. In my experience this is often NOT the case.

I have found that our customers know their product well and often have a well-developed sense of what they want to accomplish. However, there is often a gap between the "what" and the "how."

Since anyone can be overwhelmed and experience information overload when it comes to any subject, including sales leads, we thought it was time to provide a simple guide to marketing that utilizes MLM Leads, and of course other marketing methods, that we think are worth a look. That's why we think our guide should prove to be useful to marketers of all levels.

Of course, this is not meant to be the be-all, end-all guide in one session, so if you are in a hurry, or are comfortable with selecting leads for your mlm program, please feel free to review our most popular leads or request information about what might be a good match for your intended use. Also, we're not attempting to be scholarly and I'm not a skilled or perfect writer, so please excuse the presentation and grammar and let's focus on content.

Also, I hope marketers - both new and experienced, will accept our invitation to give us a call. Please note that we are generally available to chat about  your marketing needs during normal business hours and are happy to share what we have learned over some 11 years of marketing and offering mlm leads. It's a great way to learn from each other. Regrettably, time can be short during the typical work day, so it's not always possible to chat but when time allows, I've found it can be most productive for all concerned. If the truth be known, I'm still a student of marketing and find that I can often learn as much or more from our customers as they learn from me.

Lead information will be presented with a bias towards using higher quality leads - at least initially, and then expand information to cover other types of sales leads, and along the way, we'll put the spot light on interesting marketing tools that are suitable for direct sales and multilevel marketing or "MLM". As an example, I'll touch on the possible use of Social Networking Sites that can often help attract new prospects and people that can help you grow your organization by building online "buzz" and excitement or at least attract attention to your program. For now, let's get started by tackling some basics.

What are "MLM Leads" - anyway?

Let's not tackle the definition of "MLM Leads" from an etymological point of view ( attempt to define a formal history of the term), but look at it from a practical real-world point of view so we'll have a useful working definition.

The phrase or term MLM Leads refers to a type of sales lead that is suited for use in various applications such as direct sales and MLM which is an abbreviation for Multi-level Marketing. Often used interchangeably with the terms "Network Marketing Leads", or "MLM Lists", the term "MLM Leads" is often used by marketers as a search term when they search for sales leads online using Search Engines such Google, Bing, or Yahoo.

Beyond this use, the term is not very descriptive and not entirely helpful in that it's very generic and many MLM Companies prefer to be described in different terms such as 'Direct Sales' companies or Home-based business companies and perhaps Network Marketing Companies. An example of an outstanding MLM Company, which is best described as a Direct Sales Company, is Melaleuca.

The change in terms in partly due the fact that some people have a negative image of MLM because of the way some MLM companies operated in the past. Think of being ambushed or being duped into attending an Amway meeting - your 're seated and throughout the presentation, people seated behind you tapped your shoulders every so often and asked - "isn't this exciting?" Nevertheless, for our purposes, we will refer to sales leads utilized by MLM and Direct Sales companies, as "MLM Leads" and direct sales companies that offer moneymaking opportunities with a network marketing type of matrix compensation mode as MLM Companies.

Why are MLM Leads used or needed?

Often times people who become involved with MLM Companies do so for one or more legitimate reasons. After getting started, they share the story of the company and products with people they know and feel comfortable with. Thus the quest to build their business begins. While most of us can develop a list of people we know - also described as our "warm market", reality is such that we eventually run out of family, friends, and associates, and often times, the new marketer doesn't feel comfortable selling to their warm market as they don't want to impose.

So, eventually, a new source of prospects is needed and that's what MLM Leads can and do provide.

As a quick aside, let's be honest, one of most expensive elements of starting a business is the cost of acquiring a new customer. That's why this cost is shifted to marketers and why companies don't do a good job of providing "prospects" and don't provide sales leads. In addition, it's been my experience that most companies of various types can't and don't know how to sell their products or services. This is why good sales people are in such high demand...but I digress. Unfortunately, that is why MLM Leads are needed and are key to being able to successfully grow a new business or recruit people into your organization.

When are MLM Leads not needed?

In particular, MLM Leads can be helpful if your program opportunity includes or offers an money-making component. If people that are being recruited don't have an interest in making money or the opportunity does not involve making extra income, you will need to look for a different type of lead - most likely a product or interest-based lead.

What type of "mlm lead" do I need?

As a staring point, MLM Leads are best selected based on how you intend to market. Basic lead categories based on this notion include:

  • postal leads
  • phone leads
  • email leads

The rest of the selection process involves smaller but important considerations such as the age of the lead, how much you want to spend, etc.

Pricing

If you are looking for discounted leads that are offered at or near wholesale pricing, you'll want to learn about the leads we currently have on sale. In contrast to discounted leads, the freshest leads are real-time leads which are delivered just a moment or two after someone requests information online by completing an online surveyed form.

In the beginning - a quick overview of how quality leads are often created

Sometimes it helps customers to make the right  lead selection when they understand how sales leads for mlm are created.

Our discounted leads and real-time leads share a common heritage in that they all created when a prospect completes an online survey. The one exception is postal leads which can be generated from responses to ads in print media.

Typically, a respondent completes an online survey after they land on a web page that allows the prospect to request information. The request is targeted as they person generally landed on the information request page after clicking on an ad, or they found a web site related to their interest and completed a form on the site.

The positive thing about surveyed leads is that the prospect must complete all required information for their request to be accepted. Most MLM Surveyed Leads vary from a minimum of 5 questions and range upwards to 9 questions. The negative aspect relates to the fact that lead generators are not paid as much for quality as they are for the number of leads they produce. There is room for improvement in generating leads of better quality for this reason and we'll plan to comment more on this in another article.

Once a surveyed lead is accepted at a web site, the lead is made available to marketers who can contact the prospects using the information provided by the prospect which typically includes email, phone and sometimes a postal address. All surveyed leads that are generated online should contain include the date and time the prospect requested information as well and the prospect's unique Internet access address or IP Address. This information along with the information provided by the prospect proves that they requested information. You can request free mlm leads to get a sense of information that's typically provided when a prospect completes a request form - or survey.
